2016 Big Dawg Finals and LCQ Fact Sheet
To All 2016 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour Top 40 finalists AND “Last Chance Qualifier” Contestants
After another spectacular ski season, the Nautique Big Dawg World Tour finals, presented by O’Brien, is quickly approaching. Nautique Events Inc. and the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches are excited to announce that on Thursday, September 29th at 8:30 am, the Nautique Big Dawg finals will be hosting a Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) for any skier that has competed in at least ONE qualifying Big Dawg event during the 2016 season.
HOW MANY SKIERS CAN COMPETE IN THE LCQ AND WHAT ARE THE RULES?
The LCQ will consist of a maximum of 40 skiers competing in two rounds with the top 2 skiers advancing to compete in the Big Dawg World Tour Finals event beginning on Friday, September 30. The top 2 skiers will be determined as the 2 skiers that post the single highest score in either round. Should a tie exist, the back-up score (or lower score from either round) will break the tie. Should a tie still exist, it will be run off. Big Dawg World Tour Finals run-off rules will be used stating that the second skier off the dock must beat or exceed the first skier’s score to win. Entries will be added on a first come, first serve basis. If the LCQ becomes full with 40 registrants, Nautique Events Inc. will start a wait list. The LCQ is a separate sanctioned record tournament. Athletes advancing in to the Big Dawg World Tour Finals top 40 will need to enter that competition after advancing.
CAN SKIERS INSIDE THE TOP 40 COMPETE IN THE LCQ ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH?
Skiers already in the top 40 MAY REGISTER TO COMPETE IN THE LCQ AND WILL BE NOTIFIED OF AVAILABILITY IF SPACE PERMITS. Skiers must enter the tournament online and pay the entry fee and availability will be on a first come first serve basis. Please note that your scores will not prevent any LCQ skiers from advancing. Competing in the LCQ will count for practice and for record tournament scores only.
This will be the first year in Big Dawg history that 42 competitors will take to the water to compete for a chance to be crowned the Nautique Big Dawg World Tour Champion. We hope that you will take another opportunity to ski in the finals and support this great series.
