France’s Thierry Malhomme won the first event of the 2012 Nautique Big Dawg World Tour on Sunday in Melbourne, Australia. Malhomme out-dueled U.S. athlete Chad Scott (Covington, La.) in the head-to-head finale in winning the title.
This was the debut of the exciting Nautique Big Dawg World Tour Presented by O’brien to be held at the Moomba Masters. The Yarra River challenged Big Dawg skiers from around the world two preliminary rounds followed by a head to head finale.
The final four to do battle were:
1. Chad Scott
2. Jay Leach
3. Thierry Malhomme
4. Seth Stisher
Chad vs. Seth with Chad as the winner
Jay vs. Thierry with Thierry as the winner
The final two Dawgs, Chad and Thierry, plowed their way through their second pass of 12 meters/35off with a surprising decision of zero gate for Chad, declaring Malhomme as the 2012 Nautique Big Dawg Moomba Champion.
